Color of the Year 2021

Pantone: Ultimate Gray and Illuminating This is the second time that Pantone has chosen two colors to share the title of Color of the Year. 17-5104 Ultimate Gray and 13-0647 Illuminating are perfectly complementary and support the themes of stability and optimism. The cool gray brings to...

Even my boys, who can’t wait for Christmas every year, comment on its absurdity.  I’m of the opinion that we should take the time to appreciate the present moment, to the extent that we can, and celebrate the gifts of each season.  So, I feel like a bit of a hypocrite about writing the market forecast for 2021 when we’re still in December and in the thick of the holiday season. Part of me, I guess, wants 2020 to be over and the optimist in me believes that 2021 will be a better year than the last.  But, alas, this is my m.o....

A private sanctum where you can duck away from it all in relative quiet is a necessity for back to back Zoom meetings and virtual collaborations. Perhaps you need to have shelves of reference books readily available or tools of the trade close at hand. You may want space for a desk, chairs for visitors, and a side...

Pantone names 2017 Color of the Year

Color company Pantone has knighted the color Greenery as the 2017 Color of the Year. It’s a “fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of Spring,” Pantone explains. The shade has a softness that makes it calming, but enough body to make it interesting and give it presence. Greenery works well with many palettes, from soft pastels to bright or deep colors to earth tones and more. Pantone calls Greenery “nature’s neutral.” The company has compiled 10 dramatically different palettes for Greenery, each with at least 10 colors, to show its range.
