Born and raised on the South Carolina coast, Matthew Swain and his family have deep connections to the Lowcountry. When he was young, Matthew spent many summers working at his family’s company learning from his parents' entrepreneurial mindset and successful operation. He witnessed firsthand how the client experience is central to any successful endeavor in business. Matthew studied Business at the College of Charleston before an exciting opportunity in New York City led him to make a bold move to the Big Apple.
For the next fifteen years, Matthew was the Managing Director for two well known, international luxury fashion companies. This experience helped Matthew develop a sophisticated taste-level that could be trusted by the most astute clientele. During his tenure he was offered a position back in Charleston allowing him to spend the next eight years of his career here. At that point, he decided to plant his roots and invest in his first home west-of-the-Ashley.
His initial buying experience peaked his interest in the real estate industry, and a few years later, after careful consideration, Matthew chose to make another bold move and pursue a career in real estate.
Matthew has traveled extensively throughout Europe for both personal and professional interests and even lived in the Netherlands for a year. Those journeys have expanded his appreciation for fine architecture, culture, and history, and these experiences have influenced his professional development both in the real estate industry and beyond.
